My Daily Media Intake

My alarm clock goes off at 7:00 a.m. Naturally, I hit snooze. This goes on until 8:30 a.m., where I finally roll out of bed to start work. I normally spend around 30 minutes browsing Twitter to help my brain wake up, but today I forgo it. I’m working from home, so I don’t have to commute to the office.

My work consists of working on various WordPress sites; updating them with the latest news and columns and checking for any errors. I also check work email and interact with coworkers using Slack. The majority of my day is involved in these processes.

I also use Facebook Messenger to say good morning to my girlfriend and interact with friends. Around 9:30 a.m. I check Twitter for news–today especially I’m checking up on Tropical Storm Ida. I switch between Twitter and Instagram a bit throughout the day.

I usually listen to Spotify at home (or a coworker’s playlist at the office) while working to have some background noise. I like listening to lo-fi or instrumental/soft music to help me focus without being distracted by the lyrics.

Work winds down around 4:00 p.m., where I shut down the computer and go grocery shopping with my roommates–blasting music from their playlist in the car on the way there and back. Once we get home and settled around 8:30 p.m. I play a video game (No Man’s Sky) on my Playstation 4 with my girlfriend until we tire out.

And that’s my day with media usage!
