I’m Feelin’ 2022

It’s a new year, which means new goals! I took a break from blogging over the holidays to focus on family, but now I’m ready to jump back into things.

Books, Books, Books!

My goals for this year are to refocus on books: reading, writing, publishing, etc. I am working on edits for my debut novel, DEERSTALKER, to be published. Once it’s on shelves, I’ll plan a book tour for signing events, literary conventions, and more. Then I’ll be working on the sequel (or one of my other works-in-progress). I miss going to book conferences and events, meeting fellow writers and readers, networking with publishers and editors, plus all of the BOOKS!

In the meantime, I want to get back to my love of reading. I have piles of new books I haven’t read yet (and am slowly making my way through Yours Cruely, Elvira by Cassandra Peterson) and keep buying more! I may even start writing book reviews to help motivate me. I thought about joining a book club as well, depending on if I can commit to one. Finding a good group of readers to discuss plot and characters with is always helpful and fun. I also miss workshopping and editing with my friends.

Other than getting back to my love of literature, my goals are to better manage my finances (aka stop buying all the pretty things on Instagram) and try not to stretch myself too thin with projects. I’ve decided not to pursue streaming, but instead casually enjoy playing games and talking about them here. Better time management will help me get through the year. I tend to get all these ideas but never have the time to follow through, so I want to work on that more this year.

Another goal for this year is to get back into an exercise routine. I’ve finally started gaining weight which means now I have to keep track of my fitness. I plan to try some cardio in addition to home workouts, yoga, and going back to a pole studio for core strength training. I want to get a bike and a stationary bike stand so I can ride around my neighborhood or in my home when the weather is yucky.

What are your goals for this year? What plans do you have? Let me know in the comments!

Exercising is always a great thing to nail down in our daily lives, because it really has the power to put us in a more positive mindset, and sometimes mindset will make or break our pursuit of our goals. Wishing you all the best!
